Great Oak duo leads state finals qualifiersPublished by
BY JEFFREY PARENTI CLOVIS –There is no question that the 300-meter hurdles is Jade Miller’s event. Miller, a Temecula Great Oak senior, has the nation’s best time in that event, hasn’t lost a race all season and when asked Friday night after running the fastest qualifying time in the CIF State preliminaries what she expected at Saturday night’s final, the gracious Harvard-bound star didn’t pull any punches: “I want to wiiiiiinnnnn,” she said. “I will win. I’m going to win.” Miller is one of 20 Inland area athletes and two relay teams to survive Friday’s qualifying at the small college campus that is Buchanan High School.
