Chukwunonso Udeh, a senior at Concord De La Salle High in California, won the boys long jump title with a wind-aided mark of 23-9.75 (7.25m) in the third round, before passing his final three attempts at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. Udeh also cleared 6-4 (1.93m) to finish fifth in the high jump final, in addition to running a wind-legal 14.29 seconds to place fifth in the 110-meter hurdles final. Udeh also contributed to De La Salle securing a fifth-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay in 41.28 seconds.
