DeShawn Banks, a senior at Birmingham High in California, cleared 7-0.50 (2.14m) on his first attempt to capture the boys high jump title at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, Calif. Banks became the first athlete in Birmingham program history to win a state crown in any event, producing the first 7-foot clearance at the state final since 2016.
