Pinkie Schnayer, a senior at Campolindo High, won the girls shot put title with a third-round effort of 47-3.75 (14.42m) at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, Calif. Schnayer became the first athlete in Campolindo program history to win a state track and field title in any event. The Cougars have won several state cross country crowns at Woodward Park in Fresno. Schnayer also finished 15th in the discus throw prelims with a mark of 131-5 (40.05m).
