McKay Madsen, a junior at Clovis North High, won the boys discus throw title with a third-round mark of 206-8 (62.99m) for a new lifetime-best performance at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, Calif. Madsen became the first male athlete from the Central Section since Bakersfield Foothill standout Dayshan Ragans in 2008 to sweep both the shot put and discus throw championships in the same year.
