CLOVIS -- It's time for Dustin Samms to put the hammer down.

The Monte Vista Christian School junior will make his debut Friday at the CIF State Track and Field Championships at Buchanan High. He placed second in the discus at the Central Coast Section finals last week and his throw of 157 feet, 8 inches is 20th among the 23 state entrants.
