Murrieta Mesa Boys Team Champions - California CIF Outdoor State Championships 2018

The Murrieta Mesa boys team won its first state title in program history with a 35-30 victory over Great Oak at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. The Rams won the 4x400 relay with a state-leading time of 3:10.86 to clinch the title. From left: Dominic Ramirez, Christian Shakir-Ricks, Davonte Williams, Jeremiah Queen, Matthew Okonkwo and Jermarcus Tate. Shakir-Ricks, who ran the anchor on the 4x400 relay, also won the 200, with wind-legal 20.98 (the No. 1 time in the state) and placed third in the 100 (10.54). Okonkwo finished fourth in the 400 (47.52) and the Rams finished fifth in the 4x100 relay (41.51). More videos |
