Plot Thickens In Tyrese Cooper Story With Another ArrestPublished by
Cooper's Latest Arrest Brings To Light New Details By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Sadly, the Tyrese Cooper story is playing out off the track and in the legal system this spring following a series of arrests. On Thursday, the former Florida and national champion sprinter was arrested for allegedly leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle. After crashing the vehicle, police say, Cooper ran and evaded them. However, fingerprints left behind on a cell phone connected Cooper to the scene, according to NBC Miami. The incident occurred April 20 in the area of Sunshine State Parkway and NW 196th Street. That incident actually predated the events that led to a May 1 arrest after Cooper and a several other young men were spotted attempting to steal a car at the Miami Airport. Cooper, 18, of Norland HS, missed last week's Florida state meet. It is unclear whether his latest arrest will prevent him from completing school, or returning to track and field. Cooper is a suspect at this point and has not been convicted. He has been charged with Grand Theft in the Third Degree and leaving the scene of an accident.
